Trade Show Coordinator & Customers’ Liaison

 

Halifax, NS

$23 – 26 per hour, 30-35 hours per week

Permanent, full time

2 weeks paid vacation per year

Schedule: Monday to Friday, some weekend or after hour work required

 

M & C International Services is an innovative, results oriented international business consulting company, focused on developing the markets of Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Panama and Peru. The company is looking for a driven trade show coordinator and client liaison familiar with a fast-paced business environment.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with trade show organizers and professional associations and clients to promote and discuss participation in conferences, conventions and trade missions

  • Meet with sponsors and organizing committees to plan the scope and format of events, to establish and monitor budgets and to review administrative procedures and progress of events

  • Communicate with international clients and companies to determine the best business match for events

  • Co-ordinate services for events, such as accommodation, conference and other facilities, catering, signage, displays, translation, special needs requirements, audio-visual equipment, printing and security, and any other services required

  • Coordinate and air and land transportation for participants, prepare travel itineraries, ensure they have valid travel documents and valid visas

  • Organize, manage, and deliver schedule of business to business and business to government meetings during trade shows and trade missions

  • Organize registration of participants, prepare programs and promotional material, and publicize events

  • Plan entertainment and social gatherings for participants

  • Collect and report feedback from events after completion

  • Train and supervise support staff required for trade shows

  • Ensure compliance with required by-laws

  • Negotiate contracts for services, approve suppliers' invoices, maintain financial records, review final billing submitted to clients for events and prepare reports.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • University diploma

  • Minimum 1 year of year of experience in a related field

  • Good command of the English language

  • Good command of the Spanish language

  • Must have excellent computer skills

  • Experienced working with online platforms such as Zoom, TeamUp, Google Meet, Google Drive

  • Must be analytical, detail orientated and work under deadlines

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

  • References will be required
